About the Head Coach

Jeremy Block was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas.  Coach Jeremy grew up around competitive swimming, his father George is a Hall of Fame coach and remains active within the coaching and swimming communities.

Coach Jeremy’s competitive swimming career blossomed late, as his early childhood was taken up by a variety of activities including soccer to basketball.  He began swimming competitively in middle school and continued through high school at Holmes HS in San Antonio, where he set school records in backstroke and as part of a relay team in addition to being Team Captain.  Coach Jeremy took the opportunity to complete his competitive career at the University of Redlands, in Southern California.  During his four years with The Bulldogs the men’s team went undefeated in the SCIAC league.  While attending Redlands, Coach Jeremy earned his Bachelor of Arts with a Major in History and a Minor in Anthropology.

Coach Jeremy began his coaching career in the water with swimming lessons, but quickly transitioned on deck to the competitive side.  Although his favorite part of coaching is teaching strokes and fixing details, as an age group coach Coach Jeremy has produced numerous TAGS qualifiers and has developed many Sectionals qualifiers.  He is incredibly proud of his alumni who have gone on to swim at Division 1, 2, and 3 programs at the NCAA level.  One of his greatest honors as a coach was coaching at his first international meet, the Olimpiana Nacional in Veracruz, Mexico, where he served as Head Coach for IME, a team of swimmers of Mexican descent living throughout the United States and Canada.

Coach Jeremy lives with his wife and daughter in Kerrville.  In his leisure time, Coach Jeremy enjoys target shooting, hiking, fishing and trips to the beach with his family.
